A Love for Every Season: Wedding Color Palettes That Tell Your Story

Real palette inspiration for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Weddings
Captured by Keelan Walker Photography | Florence, Alabama

Color plays a powerful role in telling your wedding story.

Whether soft and romantic or bold and moody, your color palette sets the tone from the first invitation to the last dance.

Choosing your colors isn’t just about what’s trendy — it’s about what speaks to you. Your wedding palette can reflect your personality, complement your venue, and make every moment feel cohesive and intentional.

In this post, we’ve curated seasonal wedding color palettes to inspire you — whether you’re planning a fresh spring celebration, a golden summer day, a cozy fall wedding, or a romantic winter affair. From Florence, Alabama to beyond, these real wedding palettes bring style and heart to every season.

Spring Wedding Color Palettes

Lavenders and Greens in soft, muted tones create a fresh take on spring romance.

From flowing lavender bridesmaid dresses to cascading eucalyptus greens, this palette feels delicate and modern. Hints of ivory and pastel purple add a timeless touch, perfect for a garden ceremony or downtown spring wedding.

Blush, Green, and Soft Blue create a fresh, romantic feel in this elegant spring wedding palette.

Blush and green is a timeless combination, but the layered greenery and subtle blue accents added softness and depth. The gentle contrast made every detail feel light, airy, and beautifully curated — perfect for a refined spring celebration.

Summer Wedding Color Palettes

Sage, Olive, and Ivory bring softness and sophistication to a summer wedding.

A timeless celebration at Rhodes Landing in Florence, Alabama, where crisp whites and lush greens brought an effortless elegance to this summer wedding. From the floral-covered staircase to candlelit moments, every detail was designed to feel fresh, romantic, and refined.

Yellow, Ivory, and Slate Gray are cheerful.

Bright sunflower yellow paired with soft ivory and grounded by slate gray creates a cheerful yet elegant palette. This bold mix brings out the beauty of rustic venues, outdoor ceremonies, and golden-hour portraits.

Fall Wedding Color Palettes

Champagne, Blush, and Navy bring warmth and elegance to a fall wedding.

This palette blends soft romance with seasonal richness. The blush and cream florals keep it light and airy, while the champagne tones and deep navy add a grounded, cozy feel. Perfect for crisp autumn days, brick backdrops, and golden-hour portraits.

Blush, Red & Soft Green — a Romantic Wedding Palette with Garden Elegance

Blush and green is always a beautiful choice, but layering deep red accents and fresh greenery gave this look a lush, elevated feel. Thoughtful floral design brought the palette to life — your florist truly makes all the difference.

Burgundy, Fuchsia, and Dusty Rose are bold and romantic.

The deep florals paired with soft ivory and greenery create a cozy yet elegant feel. The rich tones of the bouquet and decor bring this color palette together and speak of “autumn garden celebration.”

Winter Wedding Color Palettes

Blush, Taupe, and Warm Amber are soft and timeless.

The neutral tones paired with natural textures create a cozy and refined setting. The muted landscape and warm wood accents bring this color palette together and speak of “intimate winter countryside wedding.”

Crimson, Navy, and Deep Rose bring richness to this bold winter wedding palette.

Red and blue is a classic combination, but the jewel-toned florals and satin textures added drama and warmth. The deep contrast made every detail stand out—perfect for a romantic and festive winter celebration.

Ahhhh Winter. Deep, rich tones bring warmth and elegance this time of year.

A palette of bold reds, classic navy, and soft greens made this wedding a winter dream. Velvet textures and lush florals added depth, while the colors beautifully complemented the bride’s timeless style!

Pro Tips for Choosing Your Wedding Colors

  • Start with the season. Use nature’s backdrop as a guide, not a rule.
  • Think about emotion. Do you want your wedding to feel light and fresh, or deep and moody?
  • Focus on 2–3 core colors. Then build in neutrals or metallics to balance it.
  • Match your palette to your venue. Soft colors in a rustic barn may disappear; rich tones in a modern space may pop beautifully.

Emma & Matthew | A Celebration of Love, Legacy, and 500 Beautiful Souls

Some weddings leave a mark on your heart not just because of the décor or the dress, but because of the people.

When Emma shared that their guest list had grown to nearly 500 people, I knew we were about to witness something truly special. This wasn’t just a wedding it was a reflection of two extraordinary souls who have touched the lives of many. Guests flew in from all over the world to celebrate Emma and Matthew a couple whose love radiates in every smile, every word, and every glance they share.

Emma, a beloved kindergarten teacher, brought a tender twist to the ceremony. Her young students were there to watch their “Ms. Clark” become “Mrs. Houtts.” It was one of the most heartwarming moments of the day sweet, pure, and full of innocent joy. Their cheers and claps made it all the more unforgettable.

But the emotional depth of the day didn’t stop there. In a rare and beautiful alignment of life’s milestones, Emma and Matthew also shared the spotlight with her grandparents, who were celebrating 60 years of marriage. In a world that moves so fast, honoring a love that has stood the test of time grounded the day in something deeper legacy.

From the soft elegance of the floral design by Justin Myrick, to the sweet masterpiece by Cakery Co, and the flawless touches by artists Molly Chapin and Sophie Hardy, every detail was curated to reflect Emma and Matthew’s joyful spirit. Terri Brown, their exceptional coordinator, ensured the entire day flowed seamlessly allowing the couple to be fully present and soak in every moment.

Held at the timeless Stony Point Church, their ceremony was filled with reverence, laughter, and moments that will be talked about for generations.

Emma and Matthew, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a powerful and love-filled celebration. Your day was more than a wedding it was a beautiful reminder of how love, when shared generously, becomes something unforgettable.

How to Find the Right Photographer for Your Wedding

Your wedding day is one of the most significant and cherished days of your life, filled with moments you’ll want to relive for years to come. Choosing the right photographer to capture those memories is essential, but with so many options, how do you know who’s the right fit for your big day? Here’s a guide to help you find the perfect photographer to preserve your love story.

1. Determine Your Style

Every photographer has a unique style, so start by deciding what resonates with you. Do you love bright and airy images, or are you drawn to moody and dramatic tones? Maybe you prefer candid, documentary-style photography over posed shots. Browse through wedding blogs, Pinterest, and Instagram to find inspiration and start narrowing down your preferences.

2. Set Your Budget

Wedding photography is an investment, and prices can vary widely depending on the photographer’s experience, style, and offerings. Determine how much of your budget you’re willing to allocate to photography, and keep in mind that these photos will last long after the cake is gone and the flowers have wilted.

3. Research and Review Portfolios

Once you have an idea of your style and budget, start researching photographers in your area. Look at their portfolios to see if their work aligns with your vision. A great photographer’s portfolio should not only showcase beautiful images but also tell a cohesive story of a wedding day.

4. Read Reviews and Testimonials

Client reviews can give you insight into a photographer’s professionalism, communication, and ability to make couples feel comfortable. Check online reviews on platforms like Google, social media, and their website to see what other couples have to say.

5. Schedule Consultations

Photography is personal, and your connection with the photographer matters just as much as their work. Schedule consultations to get to know them better. Ask about their process, experience, and how they handle unexpected situations (like weather changes or timeline delays).

6. Ask About Their Services

  • What’s Included? Find out what’s included in their packages hours of coverage, second shooters, engagement sessions, and albums.
  • Turnaround Time: Ask how long it will take to receive your photos.

Backup Plans: Confirm they have a backup plan for equipment or emergencies.

7. Review Contracts Carefully

When you’ve found someone you love, review their contract thoroughly. Ensure it outlines all the details, including payment terms, cancellation policies, and what happens if unexpected issues arise.

8. Trust Your Instincts

Above all, trust your gut. If you feel confident and comfortable with a photographer, it’s likely they’re the right fit for you. Your photographer will be by your side for most of your wedding day, so choosing someone you trust and enjoy being around is crucial.

Final Thoughts

Your wedding photographer isn’t just taking pictures; they’re capturing the essence of your day, preserving emotions, and creating art that you’ll treasure forever. Take the time to find someone who aligns with your style, understands your vision, and makes you feel at ease.
