I first met Brittanie a little over a year ago while I was in Texas for a photography conference. She had already booked me prior to that trip, but we happened to be in the same area and decided to meet up for coffee to talk through all the wedding details. From the moment we sat down, I knew this was going to be more than just a client relationship. Brittanie has the sweetest spirit, a genuine kindness that you don’t just see, you feel. She loves people deeply and serves them so well, and that was evident in every interaction she had throughout the entire wedding day.

This was a wedding we had been looking forward to for a long time. We absolutely love to travel, and getting to combine that with photography always makes it even more meaningful. When Brittanie told me they would be getting married at The Grand Ivory, I was beyond excited. It’s a venue I’ve admired for years one I’ve seen countless times online and saved for “one day.” And thanks to Brittanie, that “one day” finally came true.

And then there’s Eric. One of the most easygoing, grounded, and effortlessly cool grooms I’ve ever had the chance to work with. He has that kind of presence that immediately puts you at ease the kind of guy who doesn’t need to say much to make you feel comfortable. But behind that calm exterior was a groom who was counting down every moment to see his bride.

Now, I have to talk about the weather… because all week long, it kept us on our toes. I was checking forecasts constantly rain chances going up, then down, then right back up again. The morning of the wedding greeted us with a bit of rain and cloudy skies that lingered throughout the day. And to add to it, Texas decided to surprise us with a chill in the air.
But just after the ceremony… everything shifted.

The clouds parted, and we were gifted the most beautiful sunshine. Soft, golden light began to filter through the trees, reflecting across the pond in the most dreamy, glowy way just in time for bride and groom portraits. It was one of those moments you simply can’t plan, only hope for. And it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
The entire day flowed so effortlessly. The timeline fell into place beautifully, allowing Brittanie and Eric to be fully present in every moment. Watching the way they love each other so genuine, so wholehearted was something truly special. They’ve surrounded themselves with people who not only support them, but deeply celebrate them, and that kind of love filled every part of the day.

Eric had been a bundle of nerves leading up to the ceremony, eagerly anticipating the moment he would finally see Brittanie. And when that moment came… it was everything. Watching him see his bride walk down the aisle, overwhelmed with emotion, was one of the most beautiful parts of the day. Brittanie looked absolutely stunning, and the way he looked at her said it all.

These are the kinds of days that remind me why I love what I do so much.

Brittanie and Eric, thank you for trusting me, for welcoming me in, and for allowing me to be a small part of such a meaningful chapter in your lives.

Some weddings leave a mark on your heart not just because of the décor or the dress, but because of the people.
When Emma shared that their guest list had grown to nearly 500 people, I knew we were about to witness something truly special. This wasn’t just a wedding it was a reflection of two extraordinary souls who have touched the lives of many. Guests flew in from all over the world to celebrate Emma and Matthew a couple whose love radiates in every smile, every word, and every glance they share.
Emma, a beloved kindergarten teacher, brought a tender twist to the ceremony. Her young students were there to watch their “Ms. Clark” become “Mrs. Houtts.” It was one of the most heartwarming moments of the day sweet, pure, and full of innocent joy. Their cheers and claps made it all the more unforgettable.

But the emotional depth of the day didn’t stop there. In a rare and beautiful alignment of life’s milestones, Emma and Matthew also shared the spotlight with her grandparents, who were celebrating 60 years of marriage. In a world that moves so fast, honoring a love that has stood the test of time grounded the day in something deeper legacy.
From the soft elegance of the floral design by Justin Myrick, to the sweet masterpiece by Cakery Co, and the flawless touches by artists Molly Chapin and Sophie Hardy, every detail was curated to reflect Emma and Matthew’s joyful spirit. Terri Brown, their exceptional coordinator, ensured the entire day flowed seamlessly allowing the couple to be fully present and soak in every moment.

Held at the timeless Stony Point Church, their ceremony was filled with reverence, laughter, and moments that will be talked about for generations.

Emma and Matthew, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a powerful and love-filled celebration. Your day was more than a wedding it was a beautiful reminder of how love, when shared generously, becomes something unforgettable.
